The mechanics at Browncroft are knowledgable, professional, and helpful. They are very honest and flexible and provide good information to help you make repair decisions. I would recommend them to anyone, especially someone looking to maintain a modest car over the long haul. They are interested in good service and sustaining the community, not making a fast buck. I'm very grateful to have them in the neighborhood!

At most auto shops, I walk away having spent far more than I expected and feeling fairly certain that I was ripped off. I've never had that feeling at Browncroft. Eric (the owner) and his team all seem to love what they do and to care about maintaining the reputation they've earned mostly through word of mouth. Eric is a nice, no-BS kind of guy who doesn't patronize or intimidate; he just explains what's up with your car and completely understands no matter what you decide to do. If you need a loaner car, Eric will dig one up for you, which is a nice service that in my experience most shops don't provide. Just don't plan on picking up a date in your loaner car, because they're usually pretty rough (not that I care - I just need something to get me to work). Eric always seems to get a kick out of seeing your first reaction to your ride for the day.

i have know Eric for more than 30 years. I think the reason he is so good is that he is always keeping up on the latest technology. The days of being jsut a good mechanic are long gone. Eric is always studying and keeping up on the changes happening in the automotive industry. If i was back in Rochester, I would never let anyone else touch my car. But unfortunalely fom Florida Rochester is a little far for an oil change.

Eric seems like a truly honest guy and the rates they charge are very reasonable. I can easily say that this is probably one of the few honest shops in Rochester. I was never pressured in any way and in fact I was discouraged from making extra repairs that I had requested. Anyone who recommends I spend less money is ok in my book. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that my car had a meltdown right as I drove off the lot. It was an honest mistake that probably should have been picked up with a simple drive around the block. That being said Eric went out of his way to fix the mistake free of charge and offered to give me a temp car free of charge as well. He definitely did right by me. I will definitely be going here for future work on my car.
