Scott and Ed have faithfully carried on the honest tradition started by Eric over 30 years ago. I know that whenever I take a car in for service I will not be sold unnecessary parts and services. Scott explained to me exactly what had to be done and why, and the approximate cost. The waiting area has been painted and refreshed and is now very bright and welcoming. I would not hesitate to recommend Browncroft Garage!

We have been going to see Eric and the guys for years. If you want no nonsense service at a reasonable price from mechanics you can trust, this is the place. We appreciate having an alternative to the dealerships. We don't want pretty waiting rooms, amenities and glib salespeople. We do want to be able to get in, out and on with the day feeling confident that the job will be done well and in a timely fashion. At most auto shops, I walk away having spent far more than I expected and feeling fairly certain that I was ripped off. I've never had that feeling at Browncroft. Eric (the owner) and his team all seem to love what they do and to care about maintaining the reputation they've earned mostly through word of mouth. Eric is a nice, no-BS kind of guy who doesn't patronize or intimidate; he just explains what's up with your car and completely understands no matter what you decide to do. If you need a loaner car, Eric will dig one up for you, which is a nice service that in my experience most shops don't provide. Just don't plan on picking up a date in your loaner car, because they're usually pretty rough (not that I care - I just need something to get me to work). Eric always seems to get a kick out of seeing your first reaction to your ride for the day.

i have know Eric for more than 30 years. I think the reason he is so good is that he is always keeping up on the latest technology. The days of being jsut a good mechanic are long gone. Eric is always studying and keeping up on the changes happening in the automotive industry. If i was back in Rochester, I would never let anyone else touch my car. But unfortunalely fom Florida Rochester is a little far for an oil change.

Eric seems like a truly honest guy and the rates they charge are very reasonable. I can easily say that this is probably one of the few honest shops in Rochester. I was never pressured in any way and in fact I was discouraged from making extra repairs that I had requested. Anyone who recommends I spend less money is ok in my book. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that my car had a meltdown right as I drove off the lot. It was an honest mistake that probably should have been picked up with a simple drive around the block. That being said Eric went out of his way to fix the mistake free of charge and offered to give me a temp car free of charge as well. He definitely did right by me. I will definitely be going here for future work on my car.
