I came here because I needed an alternator replacement and needed it done quick...my usual mechanic who I've used for years was just too busy and couldn't fit me in. I drive full time for Uber/Lyft, so I live or die by my ability to drive. The reason I'm not giving them 1 star is because they did perform the service in one day, which I am very grateful for! All in all, I will say that they are very good at communicating, and I like their system of texting you a link to a webpage where you can see everything that they found wrong with the car. Unfortunately, that's the last bit of positive feedback I have. They returned a massive itinerary of things wrong with my car, from the left front blinker light being out (it's not at all), the engine oil needing to be replaced (all they went off was the sticker in the car, which they always list as 3k miles...they didn't actually test the oil), and the left front control arm bushing being completely off the subframe. Due to this they advised that the wheel could come off the car while driving and cause a catastrophic accident...they nearly deemed it unsafe to drive. I ran all of this by my actual mechanic, and he proceeded to tell me that they essentially nit-picked the living daylights out of my car. I had just had my car with him a month earlier replacing my left front ABS and right rear door lock, and he told me if the car had been anywhere near as bad as Browncroft described there's no way he would've let me drive the car off...and he definitely would've told me! So I declined Browncroft's recommended services and asked them to simply replace the alternator. Here comes the worst part. They did replace the alternator, but they used a rebuilt/refurbished part that only has a 1 year/12k mile warranty! If they had used a new part it would've come with a 3 year/36k mile warranty. Based on how much I paid (over $600), I'm very disappointed I didn't even get a new part for my car. So all in all, I cannot recommend Browncroft Garage. They did help me in a tight spot, and I am very grateful to them for it. However, based on them blowing my car's condition out of proportion and giving me a used alternator I will not be coming back here ever again.
